Stockard Channing · Tony Shalhoub · Brooke Adams Melanie Mayron · Sandra Tsing Loh · Michael Kostroff · Julian Fleisher
Five days of new American comedy, cabaret, storytelling and theatre-making — in a 122-seat pub theatre in Highgate, with nowhere to hide.
“London is the birthplace of modern theatre. For five days this September, Los Angeles is coming to the source.” — Sandra Tsing Loh
LOLA is a short, sharp comedy festival with the spirit of LA poured over it: works-in-progress, new writing, cabaret, storytelling, live masterclasses and a run of you-had-to-be-there one-off events. Unlike New York, San Francisco or Chicago, Los Angeles has never taken itself entirely seriously — a city that lavishes love on its freeways and cannot name a single signature dish. LOLA treats that irreverence as a serious creative principle.
Five events across five days — plus a Festival Pass if you're not the type to choose favourites.

Brooke Adams and Tony Shalhoub, married 37 years, on Hollywood royalty, drunken behaviour (sometimes her own) and the heartbreak and joy of showbusiness families.

Cold readings, theatrical demonstrations, surprise performances and audience participation — starring a mix of London and Los Angeles performers, from celebrities to complete newbies.
